The 50L Macpac Duffel is a well-rounded bag suited to carrying gear in all kinds of scenarios, whether that be to sailing regattas or simply on a multi-day road trip. Its large volume means that it is more than capable of carrying multiple sets of clothes, boots and gear allowing you to be well suited to any conditions that you may need to prepare for. Having used this bag on numerous conditions, it has never let me down with too little space.
Functionally this bag is just a typical duffel, with a large cavity and a small side pocket that you may want to use to hold smaller more important things that need to be quickly accessible, or located easily such as coins, phones and sunglasses. However, this pocket is on the small side and is only located on one side of the bag, meaning that some smaller items had to be placed in the larger opening. Other important functional aspects include a shoulder strap and compression straps that just add to its practicality for use.
At $100 this bag isnt particularly cheap, but is made of strong 1000 Denier Kodra Nylon fabrics that will allow it to last a lifetime. The denier rating is used to compare the strengths of different items made of the same material, eg. polyester, with a higher denier count indicating an increased relative strength. 1000 Deniers lies on the greater end of this scale for bags, and thus the Macpac 50 Litre duffel will be robust.
Thus, the Macpac 50L duffel offers all the functionality of a duffel bag you expect made with a durable and reliable material.
